Steps to migrate to citrix cloud: Step1: Login to your cloud connector vm. This is just a regular vm with server os. Check out Citrix Cloud Connector System Requirements and Details page for more information on cloud connector vm.
Step2: Login to cloud.citrix.com in your cloud connector vm and create a resource location.
Step3: Next Click on cloud connector. This will download cloud connector software.

Merging Policies Why?? Till xenapp/xendesktop 7.X, we had user policy pane and computer policy pane. We have applied policies to users and computers separately. But from xa/xd 7.X citrix has introduced merging policies so that we dont have to identify which policy should be applied to whom. This merging is done in the new studio UI that combines user and computer settings.
Earlier citrix admins had to decide whether or not a policy should be applied to user or computer.
We have huge storage with all kinds of VDIs mcs, pvs, standalone vms etc on our vcenter. We have removed VDIs in bulk and added new VDIs in citrix. That created lot of I/O on the storage and it increased to 100% usage all of sudden. PVS machines power on, load boot strap and stop. MCS machines are powered on but doesnt respond in vmware and citrix.
We have identified VDIs thats causing high resource utilization on each host in our VDI cluster and started rebooting those machines.
